When going out on a first date, you are sure to have high expectations and hopes that the guy you are going out with is definitely a keeper and the one for you. This unfortunately is not the case on many occasions and it is important to learn how to detect whether you are out with a loser or not.
First, did he even turn up for the date? This is a good sign he is not worth your effort or interest at all. He might have a good excuse but if he hasn’t called you before the date to cancel and was just a no-show, he can definitely be in the loser category.
If he did show up for the date, was he early or on time? It is very considerate for your date to show up early so he doesn’t leave you waiting.
Regarding his appearance, what is he wearing and how is his hygiene? If he has bad breath, bad body odor, and wearing clothes that are not so color coordinated, then he can be classified as a loser. Of course he should try his best to dress his nicest even if he can’t afford an Armani suit and also keep himself groomed even if he is going unshaven.
How did he talk during the date? Was he rude, did he talk about himself the entire time, did he listen to you when you talked? Was he paying attention especially to you when you talked about things that you are interested in. If he saw you were low on a drink did he offer to buy you a new one? If he is always talking and paying attention only to himself and there has been no chance for a conversation, he probably is a loser even though he is probably telling you how wonderful he thinks he is. If he is rude like taking a call during the date, speaking bad about his family or friends, rude to you or the waiter/waitress, this is someone you do not want to be around for a while because just think how bad he will be talking about you to his family and friends.
Did he offer to pay for the date? Even though times have changed and many new dating pairs tend to split the check, it is always a polite gesture for the guy to offer to pay for the bill. If he is ashamed of his wealth and is honest with you that he cannot afford much on the date, it isn’t something that classifies him as a loser – as long as he tells you before the bill comes. If he waits until the bill to come and says “sorry I cannot cover it”, then that is not a very good sign.
Finally, did he make sure you got home safely? You might have enjoyed the date but did he try to get away from you as soon as possible, did he drive you home, did he wait until your taxi, bus, or metro arrived? This is a very good sign and if the date went overall well and ended well, why not go out for another if you decided he is not a loser.
