Heavy Metal Marrauders At AmfAR's Inspiration Gala

 Funds weren’t the only thing raised at last night’s amfAR Inspiration Gala. As studs (of the male and metal varietals) strutted their stuff in a fashion show, even runway veterans like Heidi Klum and Chanel Iman couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow. An army of male models from Wilhelmina looked ready for battle in spiked copper shoulder pads, Trojan warrior helmets, and (sparkly) body paint—and often not much more. (A few women, in blood red satin gowns, looked like the victims of the marauding army.) It wasn’t exactly a Michael Kors show, but the amfAR honoree declared himself delighted. “I love a different group. This is a combination of fashion, medicine, Hollywood, Chelsea, uptown—a little bit of everything,” he said. “I think fashion folk have seen maybe one too many runway shows.”
