Excess Baggage

As I groggily looked for my suitcase to come around on the carousel, I realized like 90% off the luggage coming around, mine was also a fairly large black suitcase. The only identifying marker was my pink luggage tag- Mrs. Always Right. My husband's half reads "Mr. Right." I would love to travel with a $3050 Louis Vuitton Pegase cabin case, but imagine if the wheel fell off that bad boy! It comes with an easy to attach protective sleeve, but I am sure the people who can afford this type of luggage would just buy another one after the usual wear and tear. I have probably been through at least three luggage sets. Either the zipper breaks or a wheel will fall off leaving me with parts of a set- mainly the carry-ons and duffel bags. All I have to do is look out the window when they load/unload luggage to know the reason why. They huck the Louis bags the same way the huck the American Tourister bags. My husband wants to buy a set of the "turtle armor" looking luggage. You know, the ones with the hard exterior. Even though these may be more durable, I can't get used to the look.

I figured my best bet would to search about Marshalls. Not just any Marshalls, but the one in Wethersfield, CT. For some reason, they always have the best shoes, bags, and luggage. Check out the Samonsite suitcase I spied! They also have it in plain black with a bow. I think Samonsite paired up with Viktor and Rolf for this retro look. I am willing to overlook the fact that to save some dollars, I would not be able to purchase this type of luggage as a set. However, since luggage only lasts a few years (at least my luggage), I can easily find something else when the time comes. Also, since I can never seem to keep the same set in working condition, I am okay with purchasing just the bigger sized suitcase for travel. Go ahead, airlines, keep wrecking my luggage! You are just giving me the green light to go find another fabulous steal.
