With a tough competition between Susan Boyle’s ‘The Gift’, Taylor Swift’s ‘Speak Now’ and Michael Jackson’s Michael and according to Billboard Taylor’s album sold 259,000 copies this week, which is up to 29%.
This is Taylor’s third non-consecutive week at number one. With its total at 2.6 million, ‘Speak Now’ is the third best selling album of the year. Eminem holds number one with Recovery and Lady Antebellum comes second with ‘Need You Now’.

Lance Edward Armstrong, American road racing cyclist, founder and chairman of Lance Armstrong foundation (for cancer research and support) has gone through many wavy paths in his lifetime yet proved himself an ardent sportsman. He is real celebrity who ruled roads in his journey through cycle racing and won record breaking credits unbeatably.
Lance Armstrong was born on September 18, 1971 in Plano, Texas a northern suburb of Dallas. He begun his sporting career in 1983 as a swimmer at the City of Plano Swim Club and finished fourth in Texas state 1,500-meter freestyle. He left swimming after looking a poster for a junior triathlon which he entered and won easily. After just four years Armstrong was the number one ranked triathlete in the 19-and-under group. As an ameteur he was better than five proffessionals ranked that year. He became professional triathlete at the age of sixteen and became national sprint-course triathlon champion in 1989 and 1990 at 18 and 19, respectively.
His successive winnings revealed his talent for bicycle racing when he ascertained the U.S. amateur championship in 1991 and got his first  professional contract with Motorola in 1992. Armstrong also won first race with Motorola, the Trophee Laigueglia in Italy, same year he competed in the Tour Of Ireland race. Further he worked with professional teams like cofidis in 1997, US postal 1998-2004, discovery channel 2005, astana 2009 and recently with team radioshack.
Armstrong was diagnosed with stage three testicular cancer in 1996 at the age of 25. But had an orchiectomy to remove his diseased testicles. By January 1998 he was already engaged in serious training for racing, moving to Europe to race for the U.S. Postal team. But Armstrong is best known for winning Tour de France a record seven consecutive times after having survived cancer.
In 1999, he was named the ABC Wide World of Sports Athlete of the Year and achieved Prince of Asturias Award in Sports in 2000. He was also named ‘Associated Press Male Athlete of the Year’ for the years 2002–2005. He received ESPN’s ESPY Award for Best Male Athlete in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006, and won the ‘BBC Sports Personality of the Year Overseas Personality Award’ in 2003.
Armstrong retired from racing on July 24, 2005, at the end of the 2005 Tour de France, but returned to competitive cycling in January 2009, and finished third in the 2009 Tour de France. His other grand tours include Tour de Suisse and Tour de Luxembourg. Lance Armstrong is henceforth a historic cyclist living in history till time.

“A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes”

I am a Cinderella aficionado. I have Cinderella paraphernalia of all sorts (including her autograph). I believe in the proverbial glass slipper because it symbolizes the realization of one’s dreams. On July 1, 2011, I realized one of my dreams and I slid my foot into that “glass slipper” when I heard my name called as Miss Texas’ Outstanding Teen 2011. I still have to pinch myself to see if I am dreaming!

The first week of my reign was a whirlwind of activity. After my crowning on July 1, I met with the new Miss Texas Kendall Morris and the Executive Directors for a pizza party! Now that was fun after not eating pizza for months. I had forgotten just how yummy it is! The next morning, we had the official contract signing and then I had to leave for dance competition in New York City. When I returned on Thursday, David Vogel, Vicki Slaton and I participated in the MAOT lottery. My placement is perfect! I have interview on Tuesday morning, Fitness on Tuesday night, Talent on Wednesday and Evening Gown and Onstage Question on Thursday. Although the time is short, I am continuing to work diligently on interview, talent and fitness to represent Texas to the best of my ability.

On Saturday, Kendall, David, Vicki, Mike and I traveled to San Antonio for the Miss San Antonio pageant. Kendall was one of the emcees of the event and I helped out as needed. Both of us performed our talent and enjoyed meeting the contestants. Oh, and we had the nicest hotel suite ever. (David and Vicki told us not to get used to this kind of luxury but it really was great!) It was a wonderful time spent together.

Today Kendall and I had a day long photo shoot with Zac Grimaldo. He took amazing pictures for our crown shots and headshots. We did a lot of really fun and creative pictures. The funniest of all was our realization that I did an entire photo segment with my dress on wrong side out! Oh, well…that’s so Reilly.

This week will be filled with meetings and workouts, an appearance for the Empowered Woman seminar in Colleyville, talent rehearsals and interview training. In addition, Kendall and I, along with our Executive Directors, are going to the Miss Arkansas pageant. I am looking forward to this opportunity to appear as Texas’ representative.

And finally, I must come full circle and explain my obsession with all things Cinderella. To some the story’s impact lies in the fairytale ending where Prince Charming suddenly appears and rescues Cinderella. To me, that isn’t the important part of the story. Cinderella is my favorite Disney princess because she doesn’t need to be rescued by Prince Charming or by anyone else. She is kind in the face of cruelty, forgiving toward those who don’t deserve her forgiveness, optimistic even though her circumstances are undesirable and a dreamer when there seems little chance that her dreams will come true. Cinderella is a strong woman and I try to imitate those qualities. I don’t always succeed…but I keep trying.

Congrats Miss Texas

Miss Texas… These two words have been replaying in my head over and over the past few days. I have always been a dreamer, and I distinctly remember receiving my first signed autograph picture of Miss Texas 2000 Tara Watson. After taking one look at the picture that said “Always dream BIG,” I told my mom that I wanted to be Miss Texas someday. As I walked down the runway Friday night at Texas Hall, one of the first faces that I saw was none other than Tara Watson. The title of Miss Texas carries such a legacy and history with it. I have so much respect for the women who have held the title before me, and I hope that I can live up to the standard of excellence that each former has set. To sum up how I am feeling, I am blessed. My goals for the next year are to serve the state of Texas with my whole heart and bring the Miss America crown back to Texas.

My year is already off to a great start. My first official appearance was Sunday night at the “Light up Arlington” event. I attended a meet and greet, did an interview with Radio Disney, and introduced the 80’s cover band “The Spasmatics” on the main stage. The next morning I rode in the Arlington 4th of July parade. It was a typical hot Texas summer day, but the streets were lined with people. Thank you to Enterprise for providing a beautiful white Mustang convertible for my use in the parade. This week I also had an interview at WFAA Channel 8. I was beyond excited to do this interview because I have grown up watching WFAA, and it is my dream to work there someday. It was surreal to meet and chat with some of my childhood idols like Gloria Campos.
One of the very special highlights so far has been receiving my brand new Infiniti G37 from Grubbs Infiniti. I have never driven a new car so I am forever grateful to Mr. Grubbs for allowing me to drive one of his exceptional cars all over the state of Texas during my year of service. I am still trying to learn how to use all of the high-tech features in the car since I was used to driving an old Mustang that would not allow me to even roll down the windows.
As my first week as Miss Texas is coming to a close, I am in love with this job. My adventures have only begun, and I cannot wait to see what the rest of the year has in store. I realize that my time as Miss Texas is temporal so I am enjoying it one day at a time for now.
