Break ups happen. Mainly when the two of you weren’t as compatible as you may have originally thought. And believe me, going through a relationships break up can be very hard. The experience alone can be very depressing and life changing. When you put so much love and time into the other person, you just don’t know what to do with your life now. Well, recovering from any break up will depend on you and how you are able to pick the pieces back up, accept what has just happened to you, and then getting over it. May sound harsh, but it beats being depressed. So here I composed a list of tips to help you recover better than you may be from any recent break ups.
1. After a break up, always remember to avoid talking to your ex for some time, give yourself room to recover.
2.If this break up happened rather recently, it will help a lot if you avoid staying in contact altogether from your ex for some time. Even when you believe you can handle it with ease there is always the chance that some of yours or their feelings may still get hurt. If you got the fresh wounds, they will heal best if you just refrain from contact with the person that has caused them.
3. Don’t ever reminisce. This is useless and only keeps the wounds fresh. Don’t think about what used to be and look forward to the future, there are always more people out there to date!
4. Spend time with friends and family, they will be there for you and will know how to cheer you up and make you feel better. It will keep your mind off things.
5. You need to find ways to make yourself happy, and keep finding them. Keep yourself happy, you used to once upon a time, you can again. Whether its watching a movie or reading a book, do it!
6. It will not help at all if you keep living with your past. If you hand on to the memorable times you two had together, and keep occupying most your time reminiscing and all that jazz, then you are really not doing yourself a favor. It’s no good. Instead of reliving the ‘good’ old days you had with your ex, which will eventually lead up to present time and that can probably hurt, plan ahead for your future. No matter what you need to snap out of the depression and hurt by thinking about the present times and what you can be doing to get over your relationship and start dating again. And don’t ever blame the gender as a whole when you are hurt by a breakup, there are tons of good people out there, you just need to find them.
7. Now that you are free of all your burdens and requirements, chances are that when you were in a relationship you spent time away from being in contact with your friends and your family. Now is the perfect opportunity to make up for that lost time with them and to try to reconnect. You need to try to reconnect with friends and family and spend more time with them, you need it as much as they would love it. It would help keep your mind from all the hurt that was caused to you as well as the hurt feelings and experiences that may be brought by the break up. Their presence alone would help you recover faster with less stress.
8. Just because you broke up with your relationship buddy does not mean you need to wallow in self pity all day every day for the rest of all days! You have the right to be happy! No matter what others may say or think, you deserve to be happy. Make your single life be more fun, more worth it and more meaningful, and find ways to do so by any means necessary. Sure, it may not be the easiest thing ever at first, but by finding ways to stay happy even though you had a break up is a sure way to recover faster and tends to mean a lot less emotional scars.
