When it comes to finding conversation on a date, it can be hard. You stumble on your words, your hands get sweaty, you get fidgety, you look around. It is crazy and you don’t know how to kill that awkward silence. Many men and women like to take the interrogation approach which really does no good. All that does is make the person feel weird, gets the conversation no where and who the heck likes being interrogated? NO ONE! So don’t do it.
All it gives is little facts about the person that barely matter early on into the relationship, if that is what you want to call it anyway. A little early in the date to call it that, but anyway, you figure that it is either that or no talking at all. You should never assume your date will do all the talking, so don’t pre plan for that. But, I think we can all agree on the fact that it is awkward. Each second that passes is the chances of you two being an item going down the drain, and you don’t want that. Getting to learn how to come up with conversation on the fly is a great feat that anybody can learn. Don’t get fooled by the ones you need to pay for, because I’m sure some exist like that, all it really takes is a little reading and then a lot of common sense, and that little reading you will find here. It really isn’t that hard.
It is one of them ‘right under my nose’ sort of times where once you read it would would facepalm yourself and wonder how you never thought of that before. But that is why I am here. To make you realize what everyone should know naturally but don’t because how nowadays are. Where dating games are dumb and being nice is in fact what women want.
One of the things you can do is observe your surroundings to figure something out to talk about. Like I said, it is so simple that you wonder why you never did it in the first place. You are so lost in the moment that you forget that there is anything else existing beside you are your date.
One thing you can try out, if at a bar for some reason (not the ideal place to bring your girl or to find a girl, or boy for that matter) is to make up funny stories for all the people you see. Take turns with it. It will show that you not only have a sense of humor but it also shows your creative side. Things like this can help with future conversations and also helps break the ice between you two to start some real talks. You can also look around to talk about a piece of decoration that is hanging too.
I know my local Applebee’s has a lot of decorations that are real old and cool looking. Like old signs and stuff that American Pickers probably picked and sold at some time. Looking at them and talking about them, and even bringing up questions would help conversation and would show your skills at observing as well as having you two questioning things together, which puts you on the same side and makes you feel closer. You can do the same thing if you are dining outside and you see a cool looking statue or building nearby that you think is worth the attention and the talking about.
Simple things like this can save a date from a speechless disaster in the future. Use this knowledge as much as you can when you feel you are running out of things. Good luck guys and gals.
