Warnings
If you try step aerobics, be sure both sides of your platform have the same number of risers and that they are properly aligned. Austin Community College warns the platform will work better on a wooden floor than on carpeting. You should never have to lift your leg more than 90 degrees, and when stepping on the platform, allow your entire foot to land on top. ACC recommends using shoes with proper lateral support and notched heels, such as notched aerobic or cross-training shoes. It suggests you change your lead leg at least every minute and don't do more than five repeater steps.
