Sherwood Schwartz, the master behind the beloved television shows ‘The Brady Bunch’ and ‘Gilligan’s Island,’ died early Tuesday morning at the age of 94. His life ended at his home, surrounded by his four children and wife of 69 years, Mildred Schwartz.
Schwartz started his career writing jokes for Bob Hope, and then went on make TV shows of his own. The television legend won his first Emmy in 1961 as a writer for ‘The Red Skeleton Show.’ He also wrote the recognizable theme songs for both ‘The Brady Bunch’ and ‘Gilligan’s Island.’
He is survived by his large family and a strong legacy as the man behind some of the most beloved shows in television history.
