Aatar: Tremendously Leading the UK Box Office

James Cameron’s sci-fi classic Avatar, is again in the race of competition and is tremendously leading the UK box office.
The movie was breaking the box office records, but later on, because of the Valentine’s Day celebrations, Avatar faced some disturbance. Now, again the Avatar came back to its lost position, and is marvelously gaining good fame and business. According to a survey, and chart list of many cinemas, about £2.8 million saw the film and remarked it as number 1.
It can be the return because of the director’s chair for Oscar winner Peter Jackson, along with a great cast of Saoirse Ronan, Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz and Susan Sarandon. So let’s see, what this movie will further do and how many records it will break?

Pottermore Secrets Revealed

Gulping gargoyles! Just when it seemed the Harry Potter franchise was finally avada kedavra-ed, J.K. Rowling has launched the website “Pottermore” to continue the story of the young boy wizard. (See what she's doing with the wordplay there?)
The site, which Rowling launched via YouTube, will sell her seven Potter novels as e-books and audiobooks in several different languages. It will also reveal background details on characters and settings Rowling says she's been “hoarding for years.”
Fans will have 18,000 words of new Harry Potter content to devour in a matter of hours. Meanwhile, Rowling has deftly cornered the market on proceeds from the sale of her books online, without having to pay Apple or Amazon one galleon.
The site launches on July 31 (Mr. Potter's birthday), when one million fans can compete in an online challenge to gain early access. Pottermore opens its gates to the masses for free on October 1, 2011.
But what is the site like? Those hoping for a sophisticated first-person odyssey may be disappointed. Pottermore isn't a game: it's a series of illustrated environments, themed around “moments” from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (material from the other novels will be added with time). The primary attraction for Potterphiles is access to arcana Rowling's been squirreling away in her attic. Want to know why Harry's uncle is called Vernon Dursley? Or learn about Prof. Minerva McGonagal's early heartbreak?  You can find it on the site, although you may have to click around a bit to uncover the hidden treasures.
Users start out at Privet Drive, where they can explore Harry's cupboard under the stairs (replete with scampering spiders) before moving on to Platform 9 ¾, the Hogwarts Express, Diagon Alley and Gringotts. Each new witch or wizard gets a personalized trunk (where they can store their chocolate frog cards), 175 galleons and a Hogwarts shopping list (don't forget your crystal phials!) Then they're directed to Ollivander's, where they are asked a series of questions (eye color? Favorite artifact?) in order that their wand can choose them.
With personalized wand in hand, users continue on to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry itself, where, wearing the sorting hat, they are sorted into a House via a unique series of character testing questions written by Rowling herself. Some test the super-ego: would you snitch on a fellow wizard pupil who used a cheating quill? Others probe the id: which do you choose, forests or rivers? (Those who are not placed in Gryffindor get access to special material from The Sorcerer's Stone as compensation.) Once ensconsed in a house common room, users can read the secret lore of Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, meet housemates, and earn housepoints through wizard duels and mixing potions to compete for the House Cup.
While the environments do have some animated features (Scabbers lurking behind the cabin curtains in the Hogwarts Express, owls and ravens flying about), Pottermore is no World of Warcraft. Rowling wanted to keep the emphasis firmly on reading and the "literary experience," which is why Pottermore's environments are more like digitized pop-up books than a graphic adventure game. (While the environments share some similarities to the films, they are not based on them. And there are no avatars.)
Rowling is also encouraging user contributions to Pottermore. Users can jabber on the site about the benefits of dragon heartstring vs. Thestral tail hair wand cores to their heart's delight. Fans can even submit art.
Given the boxes of material gathering dust in her house, Rowling hasn't ruled out the possibility of creating a Harry Potter encyclopedia. She says she has “no plans” for another Harry Potter book. From now on, Harry Potter will live in the digital age. Talk about magic.

Pretty Little Liars Says about the mystery-drama series on the ABC Family network

The lovely young stars of Pretty Little Liars, the mystery-drama series on the ABC Family network gathered for the Disney ABC Summer press day to talk about the second season of the hit show.
The stars Lucy Hale, Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson and Shay Mitchell are real gal-pals. But on the series they play four estranged friends who are bonded together by the mystery surrounding the disappearance of their friend Alison. All the girls get cryptic text messages from an anonymous person known as “A.” And the thrilling whodunit continues.
It was difficult to get any of the actresses to reveal where the riveting plot is going, but Lucy Hale gave us a sense of what was happening on the set and behind the scenes.
This season the story picks up where it left off in the finale. And Lucy, who plays Aria, said, “We’re trying to track down Ian’s body, and we don’t know if he’s really dead. If he is ‘A.’ Did he kill Alison? If he’s not, who is ‘A’? Did ‘A’ kill Ian?”
As far as Aria’s storyline, Lucy said she’s still seeing with her teacher Mr. Fitz. “But he’s no longer a teacher at the school. He’s teaching at a college now. And so they can legally date in Pennsylvania. They actually went and figured out that it is legal in Pennsylvania, I guess she’s 16, 17, to date an older man.”
Lucy herself reported that she’s dated both older guys and age appropriate fellows, because she likes options and doesn’t like to discriminate.
“There’s a love triangle coming,” Lucy gushed. There’s someone else that catches Aria’s eye, who is more age appropriate. Her new love interest is very interesting she said, “Because it makes her realize how much she really is risking by being with Ezra. The two guys are completely different. Like couldn’t be more opposite. So I don’t know at this point of filming which guy she’s going to choose. I don’t know. Noel is not in the love triangle but he is involved in the second season.”
Another storyline has her dealing with her brother. “What we’re filming now is Aria’s little brother is rebelling a lot, in a major way, and that’s another thing to add to the whole mixture of her crazy life.”
The show has changed Lucy’s personal life, but not dramatically. “It’s mainly a lot of scheduling changes. We’re working every day of the week. We have the weekends off. My personal life hasn’t really changed. I get recognized here and there, but I don’t get chased around by the paparazzi or anything. It’s just busier I’m just a lot busier. And get to go to fun events and wear dresses that I would never get to wear,” she’s happy to report.
Lucy doesn’t mind her busy schedule because she loves acting. And she hates it when performers complain about their job. “Look at the opportunities we get to experience. Things I don’t think we’d get to go through. I just enjoy being artistic. I love singing. I love cooking. I like to paint. I’m not good at it, but I like to do it.”
“It’s just a way of expressing myself, and I feel you really learn a lot about who you are. Because with the work you do you find you connect with some things and not with others. You’re always learning, and always growing, and you’re always taking one step forward. You’re always going to become a better actress. I get to work with great people. And it’s really cool to be surrounded by people who are really passionate, because it’s really inspiring.”

Rosie Huntington about Shia Labeouf and Megan Fox

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley knows all about Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox’s talked-about hookups on the set of the second Transformer flick — and, as Fox’s replacement for Transformers: Dark of the Moon, she steeled herself to resist his advances!
“It was tough,” the stunning British model-turned-actress, 24, joked during an appearance on Chelsea Lately. “I really had to tie myself into my trailer!”
LaBeouf, 25, kissed and told in a recent Details interview about hooking up with Fox, 25. “Look, you’re on the set for six months, with someone who’s rooting to be attracted to you, and you’re rooting to be attracted to them.”
“I really had to restrain myself,” Huntington-Whiteley yukked when asked about avoiding LaBeouf during the flick’s seven month shoot. “It was really tough for me. I had to wear a chastity belt!”
In all seriousness, the stunner has been dating The Mechanic hunk Jason Statham for over a year. She added that Statham, 43, doesn’t mind when she towers over him in heels. “He loves it!”

Years Best Weekend
Records, records everywhere. “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” collected $97.4 million this weekend (from Friday to Sunday), according to studio estimates. That’s a significant result in three ways:
1. It’s the largest opening weekend of the year, passing the $90.2 million debut of “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.”
2. It’s the biggest Independence Day weekend, opening beating $88.2 million from “Spider-Man 2.”
3. It’s the third-best July opening weekend, behind “The Dark Knight” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.”
Michael Bay’s $195 million alien-robot threequel is projected to finish the four-day holiday weekend with $116 million, bringing its six-day cumulative total to $181 million.
But despite those enormous numbers, “Dark of the Moon” will likely never catch its predecessor “Revenge of the Fallen,” at least domestically. By comparison, that 2009 sequel had earned a massive $214.9 million after six days. According to Paramount, 62% of “Moon’s” audience was male and 55% younger than 25. Showings in 3-D continued to account for 60% of its gross, and IMAX screens single-handedly brought in an estimated $13.8 million over the four-day weekend.

Buying the best entertainments

Purchasing entertainment components can actually be a lot of fun. The technology level out there today means that you are going to be able to get a phenomenal amount of returns on your entertainment dollar. Even the lowest price piece of gear out there is going to give you state of the art performance. If you are intimidated by all the technical terminology and jargon, this quick primer will have you talking (and shopping) like a pro in no time.

Getting the Best Value for Your Money

The key in this market is to look at how long you intend on having the things that you are going to buy and then budget accordingly. That way, you are less likely to overspend.  Let's face it, a blue ray player is going to give you great picture and sound right out of the box, and the brand name really doesn't mean a lot. With electronics, if they are going to fail because of the way they are made, it will usually happen when you first use them.

Where you will notice a difference is down the road after six months or a year. Then, you will see why researching and buying quality items when purchasing entertainment components is the best choice.  The technology is there, and it is standardized. That means that any off the wall manufacturer can build a machine that will do the job. That is true whether it is a Blu-ray player, an LCD TV, a stereo component or any other piece of electronics. However, the long-term performance and durability of a product is what sets some manufacturers apart from others.

The truth is, a major brand name manufacturer will use the best components around. That means that they do not skimp on buying whatever the clearinghouse is trying to move on the day that they order. When you are purchasing entertainment components, this is important because if you ever need service, it can often be harder to find replacement parts for a knock off than a brand name unit. Not only that, but it might be next to impossible for your local repair center to even get a schematic to fix the off name item, so you might end up throwing it out when it breaks. Entertainment components can be not only expensive, but hard on the environment as well when they start to take up space in landfills.

Ultimately, when purchasing entertainment components, your best choice is to go with a brand-name model that is known for quality and comes with a minimum 1 year warranty. Look for devices that have been out a year or more and are in the middle of the price range for that particular item. Avoid buying first generation devices. Althouth they are cutting edge, they are also over-priced and prone to problems.

Make Your Electronic Entertainment Dollars Go Further

Another factor to consider when you are purchasing entertainment components for yourself is the needs that you have. Many people these days are compelled to stay on the cutting edge and want the newest item on the market. Gaming consoles are a prime example. If you are one of these types of people, the chance is that you will be upgrading a component before its life span is over. In that case, you can often opt for the cheaper unit knowing that you will no doubt replace it before it breaks or wears out.

On the other hand, if you are buying an item that you can be fairly sure you will keep for its entire life, you should opt for the better-built brand name. A large screen LCD is a great example. Most people tend to keep them until they completely die and then replace them. At that point in time, technology has moved on and you will likely get a better unit for less money.

Always remember that quality control will directly affect the actual life span of the unit. Quality purchase and care at the beginning will result in quality for the life of the unit.

Finding Entertainment Centers Under-Budget

When it comes to organizing your lounge or living room, you should think about using entertainment center storage models to keep your knick knacks and such tidy and orderly. Entertainment centers come in a variety of shapes, sizes and materials. Nowadays, it seems that every room in the house has numerous electronics and other gadgets strewn everywhere, but at least in the living room you can comprise a simple solution using entertainment centers for storage.

Centers With Space for CD’s, DVD’s, Records, VCR Tapes and More!

Entertainment center storage models are specifically designed to allow for storing every type of media from VHS tapes to Blu-ray disks. Many of these entertainment centers for storage offer a variety of ways to store things. Popular features include the storage of media in racks made specifically to hold a certain item like video tapes or DVD cases. When not in use, some allow you to thumb through the cases when looking for one to watch.

If you have children, you certainly need to look into entertainment center storage as a way of keeping things organized because everyone knows that kids have a definite way of making a mess and/or losing items like DVD's, CD’s and video game disks and cartridges. These types of luxury items can cost quite a bit of money, especially when it comes to video games and their consoles. Some games cost as much as $60 or even $75--sometimes even more depending on the game and the console.

No one wants to sacrifice a game because there is nowhere for the clutter to go. Using entertainment center storage is a way to avoid such a loss. Game consoles also come with loads of tangling, messy cords and controllers that always seem to be in the way. Finding an entertainment center for storage will open up valuable space in your living or family room. This means that a few minutes of going over some responsibilities with the kids about putting such items back into the entertainment center storage compartments will be all that you need to do to begin enjoying a clutter-free living room.

Budget Entertainment Centers

With price tags that often soar over $1000, a new entertainment center may seem out of your budget. Fortunately, there are a lot of budget entertainment center options for those who are willing to do a little research and apply some elbow grease. Look into some of the following options for cheap entertainment organization.

Assemble it Yourself: You can often find expensive-looking entertainment centers at a fraction of the cost of ready-made models if you are willing to assemble to unit yourself. Some furniture stores like Ikea and Furniture in a Box specialize in these types of units.
Yard and Estate Sales: Early birds may just find the proverbial worm by looking for entertainment center storage at yard sales and estate sales. Check your local paper for listings of nearby upcoming sales. Many ads will specify whether or not they will be offering large furniture.
Classified Ads: Many local papers and radio stations offer free Internet classified ads. Find some in your community and keep an eye out for entertainment centers. You'll need to act fast to snap up a good deal since these ads often score hundreds of hits within minutes of being posted.
Modify Existing Furniture: If you or someone you know if handy, you can take an existing piece of furniture like a bookshelf, coffee table or an armoire and modify it into an entertainment center. Oftentimes, all that is requires is a hole in the back of the unit for electrical cords and some baskets for storage.

The Speedy "Cars 2"

Speed bumps be damned, 'Cars 2' raced to first place on the box office chart in its first weekend on the track. Despite some of the weakest reviews in Pixar history, the beloved computer-animation studio's streak of No. 1 debuts continues unbroken, 12 for 12.

While 'Cars 2' seemed to have a lock on first place, predictions for where it would finish were all over the map, from low 50s to mid-70s. According to studio estimates, the sequel opened with $68.0 million in sales. It's not clear yet whether the movie would have done better if it had had better reviews, or whether the 3D fatigue ticketbuyers have felt all summer affected 'Cars 2.' It didn't exactly outpace the 2006 'Cars,' whose $60.1 million opening five years ago would translate to about $72.1 million after ticket inflation. Still, the film has also earned $42.9 million overseas, for a worldwide total of $110.9 million.

Getting higher grades from ticketbuyers than expected was 'Bad Teacher,' which opened in second place. The Cameron Diaz comedy's R rating and mixed reviews had led to predictions of a debut in the low 20s, but it proved the top choice for adult viewers who didn't want a family-friendly option this weekend, and it took in an estimated $31.0 million. After the successes of this film and 'Bridesmaids,' expect to see a lot more raunchy, female-oriented comedies.

'Green Lantern,' last week's No. 1, fell to third place. Superhero movies tend to have steep dropoffs in their second weekends, but 'Lantern' plunged a drastic 66 percent to an estimated $18.4 million. That's about what was expected, given the film's poor word-of-mouth. In two weekends, 'Lantern' has taken in $89.3 million worth of green, but with a $200 million budget to recoup, the prospects of the Ryan Reynolds movie turning into a franchise seem dim.

In fourth place, ''Super 8' took in an estimated $12.1 million, down 44 percent from a week ago. In three weeks, the monster movie has scared up $95.2 million, earning nearly twice its $50 million budget.

'Mr. Popper's Penguins' popped into fifth place with an estimated $10.3 million. That's down two chart slots and 44 percent in sales from its debut last week. The Jim Carrey kiddie comedy's 10-day total is $39.4 million.
