Making Grilled Cheese

Learning how to make grilled cheese is often the first dish an individuals learns. After all, it is one of the easiest foods to make. Here are the steps to making grilled cheese, with a few alternatives along the way.
Ingredients:

  • Bread
  • Cheese
  • Butter (or an alternative like olive oil)
  • Supplies:
  • Skillet (with anti-stick spray preferred)
  • Stove
  • Spatula
Directions:

  1. Prepare to grill the sandwich. Put the skillet on the stove, spray it with anti-stick spray, and turn on the heat. Normally you can start on "high" and later turn it down a little bit, in order to reduce the window in which to notice the sandwich is done (if you're afraid that you'll burn it, or for timing reasons).
  2. Prepare the sandwich. Put butter on the outsides of each peace of bread. Alternatively, you can use something like olive oil for a bit of a healthier touch; the taste is fairly similar. Put the piece of cheese, or chunks of cheese, in the middle.
  3. Place the sandwich on the grill. With the buttered sides on the bottom and top, and the cheese in the middle, place the sandwich on the grill.
  4. Flip the sandwich when ready. After perhaps two to five minutes, you can flip the sandwich when you notice the bottom is golden brown.
  5. Finish cooking the grilled cheese. Wait until the other side is done - and enjoy!
  6. Experiment! There are many ways to make grilled cheese. Experiment with different cheeses, healthier options (like olive oil and healthier bread), and ingredients (like a tomato slice in the middle as well). The grilled cheese sandwich is a classic that can be experimented upon for maximum enjoyment.
