Food sources of Pantothenic acid

 Food sources of Pantothenic acid
The word pantothenic, meaning widespread, indicates that the distribution of this vitamin is extensive. Walsh and co-workers 122 determined the pantothenic acid content of75 processed and cooked foods. Of them, about one-third contained 2 mg or more per 1000 kcal. ThiE group included chicken, beef, livenvurst, potatoes, oat cereals, tomato products, and whole grain cereals. About one-half of the pantothenic acid is lost in the milling grains, which constitute an important, ifnot a rich, sourCE of this factor in the average diet. Fruits are relatively pool sources of this vitamin.
