Human requirement
The Food and Nutrition Board of the National Research Counci1 has set the recommended dietary allowance for riboflavin at kcal for the average man aged 23 to 50 years and for the average woman aged 23 to 50 years. An increment of 0.3 mg per day for pregnancy and 0.5 mg per day for lactation is suggested. The recommended dietary allowance for infants and children is also 0.6 mg per 1000 kcal. The Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee set the riboflavin recommendation at 0.55 mg per 1000 kcal for all age group.
